As you may already know, here at ROFL we are more than a shop. Yes we do love selling products that are planet friendly, oh so comfy to wear and who can forget our quirky designs? But what we love most of all is the next part. Once a product has sold we use the profit to help people.<\/p>

\"oqoqsbkuk5clq7fmbxfgaxgvvolemkzvfrc1wcewummsmcdb.jpeg.jpeg?w=1140&v=2\"Our artists from Scotland and Malawi receive 50% of the profit from any product that they contribute to. The rest of the profit is donated to projects in Malawi. Our favourite Malawian grassroots NGO is our namesake, Reach Out For Life.<\/p>

Over the years they have been great at adapting to whatever the local communities needs are. They have done projects in education and health. When coronavirus hit they raised awareness and helped to share good information and basic resources, even helping a Malawian music group with a special video about Covid.<\/p>

In 2023 they helped in the recovery after Cyclone Freddy. And this brings us to what is happening now in Malawi. Partly due to Cyclone Freddy and other effects of climate change, paired with the long term impacts of Covid and the significant cost of living increases there is a food crisis in Malawi. Reach Our For Life has decided to turn its attention to farming, in the hope that they will be able to help against the food crisis. This is not an easy project and we are going to follow them on their journey as they give us a first hand look at the challenges of farming in Malawi. Malawi is one of the countries that has contributed the least to climate changes but feels the biggest effects.<\/p>

Due to lack of rainfall they have already had to replant Maize. The next steps are weeding and adding fertiliser and manure. Happily we had our best sales yet over Christmas and the profits are already there in Malawi helping with these costs.<\/p>
